A tough lesson I've learned (although, more accurately am still working on) is focussing on 'outcome' over ego.
Getting to the right answer is more important than coming up with the right answer.
One big mistake people repeatedly make is focusing on proving themselves right, instead of focusing on achieving the best outcome. This is the wrong side of right.
